The Project Director, Rob Walsh has been to China to examine the Zhoukoudian cave sites and Peking man Museum.

It was a necessary visit to add much needed shape to the LRU project on the Zhoukoudian hominins. It appears they lived at the Zhoukoudian localities from 700,000 to 230,000 years. An amazing time span for the longevity of such a people.

The projects attempts to answer such questions as where did the Peking man race decend from and who in tern were their descendants. Is there a multiregional pattern to their evolution or did African hominins replace them.

The project is now completed and ready for scientific publication as of May 2014
